Policy Director for Equity and Justice
Tiana Davis is the Policy Director for Equity and Justice at the Center for Children’s Law and Policy. In this capacity, Tiana works with national, state and local leaders to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in the youth justice system. Through the Racial and Ethnic Disparities Reduction Project, Tiana partners with officials in Arapahoe County, Colorado, Alachua County, Florida and Suffolk County, Massachusetts as they implement a data-driven and collaborative approach to address disparities. She also works with officials in Connecticut to implement reforms that will reduce disparities statewide, and in the urban centers of Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven and Waterbury. Tiana collaborates on a host of other projects at CCLP and plays a key role in shaping the organization’s efforts to promote fairness and equity for all youth, families, and communities.
Prior to joining CCLP, Tiana served as the Director of Community Programming for the Mayor’s Office on Criminal Justice in Baltimore City, Maryland. In this role, she partnered with local communities and justice agencies to improve public safety through enhanced community-based opportunities for individuals involved with the justice system. Prior to her time with the Mayor’s Office, Tiana served as the DMC Coordinator for Baltimore County, where she worked intensively with a group of local stakeholders to address racial disparities in juvenile justice. Tiana facilitated unprecedented levels of collaboration among local stakeholders who employed data-driven strategies that significantly reduced detention admissions and racial disparities in the County’s youth justice system.
Tiana earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
