Director of Alternatives to Incarceration
Roxana Matiella is the Director of Alternatives to Incarceration at the Center for Children’s Law and Policy. In this capacity, Roxana assists in the management of the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiatives (JDAI) work. She also works with the Racial and Ethnic Disparities Reduction Project assisting Virginia and Massachusetts sites to become data-driven and exercise collaborative approaches to addressing disparities.
Prior to joining CCLP, Roxana was the JDAI Site Coordinator for Pima County Juvenile Court in Tucson, Arizona. Roxana also served as a commissioner for the Supreme Court of Arizona’s Commission on Minorities in the Judiciary. She has experience in presenting the JDAI and DMC work at the local, state, and national level.
Roxana has a diverse background in working within behavioral health, juvenile justice, and management. She has been instrumental in advocating and guiding system reform efforts in Pima County and at a state level. Roxana earned a Master of Management in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and is currently completing her dissertation for the program of Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership.
